This blog site provided to me free by Blogger has been acting haywire for the past few days.

When I add new lines to an existing blog entry, and save them, they show up on the blog. But when I try to edit the post, the new lines are missing from the text displayed for editing, and disappear from the blog.

I have no idea why this suddenly started happening, but I think the best will be to continue saving this information elsewhere. Or is that Blogger's objective?

Next question: where is the open-source browser-based virtual world application? Prokofy would ask, why do entitlement-happy opensourceniks want everything to be free? Answer: because we feel that no one should be prevented from making and using an open-source tool if they want to.

The open-source tools are admittedly often difficult to use, with inadequate user support systems, or incompletely developped. Maybe that's the price to pay for their being free. Thus there is a time and place for both free open-source software and purchased propriety software.

Last Friday I was looking for a Windows Task Manager that would give more info than the standard one, and found this:

For Windows NT it says:

Jabber Epilogue

Added on Tuesday 10 Juin: I finally got PSI connected to Livejournal Monday evening at home. First it is necessary to be logged in to Livejournal: I may have forgot to do this during certain trials. And then you have to click on the right little icone in a drop-down menu, which I may have failed to notice. But this morning when I try to do this at work, it never connects: the firewall gets in the way. I need a proxy.

On FriendFeed there should be a way to show the recent comments that you have made on other peoples' blogs. That can sometimes be a major part of one's productive output. Maybe there is a way to tag the comments on Digg or Delicious or something, so that they will show up in the FriendFeed stream.

* Cygwin (When running cygwin setup utility I selected to install patchutils, flex, and bison, all located under "devel", which are not part of the default install)
*ActivePython 2.3x or later

This "compiling with" page also states:
* The SL Viewer depends on third party libraries, some of which are open source (I've already downloaded these), some others are not.
*"The VS2003 libraries provided in the source downloads do not fully work with VS2005 compiled binaries."

The installation of the proprietary libraries seems terribly complicated.

Go forward to "Microsoft Visual Studio" for "Setup the project globals"
